Scripture: Jeremiah 29: 4-7
This passage fro Jeremiah can be interpreted out of context as when bad things happen, just sit back and wait for God. But that’s REALLY out of context. The people Jeremiah were writing to were defeated and exiled, not least because they had listened to bad prophets. And now they were tempted to listen r bad prophets again — just as many of God’s people today are listening to bad prophets. Those of us who seek a Jesus-way of living are challenged now to listen to preachers, politicians and news that are grace and love-filled. Will we make the right decision?
